Well, of course I have to start with her adorable little name. Don’t you just love it? It just suits her so well! I love when I get to opportunity to meet and work with families at their maternity session before they ever deliver. It just really helps us all feel so much more at ease and comfortable with each other by the newborn session, and I truly become so invested in their story and the excitement in those days and weeks leading up to their birth.
This mama knew that she wanted her newborn session to be a Fresh 48. These types of sessions are shot within the first 24 to 48 hours of your baby’s birth, and most often times in the hospital. It is such a great way to capture all those first moments, those little newborn details that you want to remember, and just the feel of finally holding your baby in your arms, and that glorious and deep love story the unfolds from there.
Courtney had days of early labor and was just completely exhausted by the time little Jules made her arrival, she had literally been up for days, so I gave them the freedom and option of letting me know when they were ready for me to come. They were all in some serious need of sleep. Luckily, the were released the day after she delivered and were so glad to get home to their own beds and comfort of their home, so in the end we decided we would photograph their session in their home! I was pretty excited about that because I knew for sure they would feel most comfortable there, and I would be able to capture memories that they would all love for years to come.
Jules was just perfect at just 2 days old. She was so alert and curious about what was going on. You could tell her parents were truly smitten with her, and it was so beautiful to see!
Here are some of my favorites from their session:
